ICES advises that when the EU multiannual plan (MAP) for Western Waters and adjacent waters is applied, catches in 2021 that correspond to the F ranges in the MAP are between 3075 tonnes and 3953 tonnes, assuming recent discard rates. The entire range is considered precautionary when applying the ICES advice rule. To ensure that the stock in Functional Unit 11 is exploited sustainably, management should be implemented at the functional unit level. Note: This advice sheet is abbreviated due to the COVID-19 disruption. The previous advice issued for 2020 is attached as Annex 1.
