ICES advises that when the EU multiannual plan (MAP) for Western Waters and adjacent waters is applied, and assuming zero discards, catches in 2021 that correspond to the F ranges in the MAP are between 2653 tonnes and 3290 tonnes. The entire range is considered precautionary when applying the ICES advice rule. To ensure that the stock in Functional Unit (FU) 16 is exploited sustainably, management should be implemented at the functional unit level. Note: This advice sheet is abbreviated due to the COVID-19 disruption. The previous advice issued for 2020 is attached as Annex 1.
