ICES advises that when the maximum sustainable yield (MSY) approach is applied, catches in 2027 should be no more than 4833 tonnes. Cod in NAFO Subarea 1 is caught in a fishery consisting of a mix of West Greenland inshore spawning cod, West Greenland offshore spawning cod, and East Greenland–Iceland offshore spawning cod. This should be taken into account when defining management actions to avoid exceeding the advice for any of the stocks.
