ICES advises that when the maximum sustainable yield (MSY) and precautionary approaches (PA) are applied, catches in 2027 should be no more than 5 526 tonnes. Out of this, catches in NAFO divisions 1A–1C should be no more than 2 305 tonnes in 2027 (MSY), and catches in divisions 1D–1F should be no more than 3 221 tonnes in 2027 and 2028 (PA). Cod in NAFO Subarea 1 is caught in a fishery comprising a mix of West Greenland inshore spawning cod, West Greenland offshore spawning cod, and East Greenland–Iceland offshore spawning cod. This should be taken into account when defining management actions to avoid exceeding the advice for any of the stocks.
