ICES advises that when the EU multiannual plan (MAP) for the Baltic Sea is applied, catches in 2027 that correspond to the F ranges in the plan are between 211 363 and 324 914 tonnes. According to the MAP, catches higher than those corresponding to FMSY (274 322 tonnes) can only be taken under conditions specified in the plan, while the entire range is considered precautionary when applying the ICES advice rule. The fishery for central Baltic herring includes fish from Gulf of Riga herring. This should be taken into account when defining management actions to avoid exceeding the advice for any of the stocks.

*
The probability of SSB being below SSB reference points in 2028. This probability relates to the short-term probability of SSB <; Blim and MSY Btrigger and is not comparable to the long-term probability of SSB <; Blim and MSY Btrigger tested in simulations when estimating fishing mortality reference points.
**
SSB 2028 relative to SSB 2027.
^
MAP multiannual plan (EU, 2016, 2019, 2020, 2023). Relative advice changes corresponding to the EU MAP advice of 157 996 [FMSY], 120 378 [Flower] tonnes, and 188 090 [Fupper] respectively.
^^
Note that, under the current stock conditions, the target SSB of these scenarios by the year 2028 is not achievable within the limits of fishing pressure in the forecasting procedure
^^^
p(SSB (2028) <; Blim) = 5 % is 4.99 but rounded to 5.
